The Lowry Art and Entertainment space in Manchester is a draw to all who love the visual and performing arts. A large community project is planned to mark the occasion of its tenth anniversary this year, along with a festival for parents and children in June. From kids art workshops to Glenn Campbell to art exhibitions to Chekov to Chorus Line, you are sure to find something that inspires at The Lowry. In particular, one of the highpoints of the birthday celebrations was a specially commissioned installation by the New York-based Spencer Tunick involving naked volunteers from across Salford and Manchester. That sure drew a crowd!

Also on offer is the Manchester Literature Festival, due to be held between the 14th and 25th of October. Visitors for a few days or more will be rewarded by a wide spread of literary events in various locations across the city.
