Culture takes over in Manchester 2010.
With its many year round attractions, Manchester draws visitors from locations throughout the world. Year round, visitors flock to the city to sample its cultural events and in the process the city has been reborn. Two of Manchester’s arts events in 2010 include.
The Lowry’s 10th birthday.
Set in the heart of Salford, Manchester, the Lowry is a well loved theatre and galleries centre, set right on the Quayside in a newly redeveloped part of the city. Family and community events are taking place to mark the centre’s 10th anniversary year, including the massive Unlocking Salford Quays project. From schools workshops to Glenn Campbell to local artists to The Orchard to musicals, you are sure to find something that inspires at The Lowry. One of the highpoints of the year must be the recent photographing of naked volunteers from across Manchester by New York artist Spencer Tunick. Crowds goggled!
Manchester’s Literary Festival in 2010.
Also on offer is the Manchester Literature Festival, due to be held between the 14th and 25th of October. Sampling a few of the many literary events are a must for those spending more that a few days in the city. People new to the city will be able to meet writers galore at this year’s festival: disappointment is not to be brooked!
The many visitors need a place to relax
…and for many, that means a hotel or B&B. For others, especially groups, families or simply those used to a little more room, an increasingly popular choice is to stay in Manchester serviced apartments near its main attractions. Visitors can sit back and take life easy after the bustle of town in Manchester’s serviced apartments which benefit from space, light and all mod cons.
Which serviced apartments in Manchester?
You’ll find the Piccadilly site ideal for travel, leisure, and staying at the heart of things culturally, and there are great examples of some of the best serviced apartments available in the city. With the main city train station also in Piccadilly, this part of the city is well placed for traveling to other destinations. Walk across the footbridge and you’ve reached your home from home. Why look anywhere else?
